EXCEL-PHARM scholarship applications open soon. Prospective applicants can now apply to four UCC postgraduate programmes — MPhil Infections and Immunity, MPhil Drug Discovery and Development, PhD Drug Discovery and Development, and PhD Pharmaceutical Technology — through the UCC Postgraduate Admissions Portal.
The EXCEL-PHARM consortium is preparing to open scholarship applications for the 2026 intake. Ahead of that launch, the University of Cape Coast (UCC) — the project's coordinating institution — is now accepting applications for four postgraduate programmes that will host EXCEL-PHARM scholarship holders.
How the two applications fit together: applicants first secure admission to the UCC degree programme of their choice through the UCC Postgraduate Admissions Portal. When the EXCEL-PHARM scholarship call opens, admitted students can then apply for the scholarship to fund that degree. Starting the admissions process now puts you in the strongest position when the scholarship window opens.
UCC postgraduate programmes for the 2026 intake
- MPhil in Infections and Immunity — Advanced training in pathogen-host interactions, antimicrobial resistance, and infectious disease control across Africa.
- MPhil in Drug Discovery and Development — Comprehensive master's programme in modern drug discovery techniques, medicinal chemistry, and the full drug development pipeline.
- PhD in Drug Discovery and Development — Doctoral programme advancing original research with a focus on African-relevant diseases and novel therapeutic agents.
- PhD Pharmaceutical Technology — Research-focused doctorate covering advanced formulation science, drug delivery systems, and manufacturing processes.
Full programme descriptions, learning outcomes, and course modules are available on the EXCEL-PHARM mobilities page.
