EXCEL-PHARM team members attended the EU-organised Kick-off meeting for new Intra-Africa Mobility Projects and the Cluster meeting on Green Transition, held in Brussels from 14 to 17 April 2026.
From 14 to 17 April 2026, the European Union organised the Kick-off meeting for all new Intra-Africa Mobility Projects, followed by the Cluster meeting on Green Transition. These meetings were held at the EU Thon Hotel in Brussels, Belgium.
EXCEL-PHARM Team in Attendance
Seven EXCEL-PHARM project members represented the consortium at these landmark meetings:

Kick-Off Meeting (Days 1–2)
The first two days focused on the kick-off meeting, with an agenda covering:
- Selection Results 2025 summaries
- Panel discussion on "Partnership's alignment with Global Gateway priorities"
- Workshops on strategic planning and institutional leadership for sustainable partnerships
- Scholarship holders' selection and recognition of studies
- Impact, Visibility and Communication: telling your project story
- Plenary session on "Efficient management of the Intra-Africa Grant and Reporting"
Green Transition Cluster Meeting (Days 3–4)
The final two days addressed the green transition in Africa, covering:
- Higher education for Africa's green transition
- Universities: shaping a sustainable, inclusive and innovative ecosystem
- Green skills and competencies
- Building synergies and partnerships for the green transition
- Linkages with the private sector in Intra-Africa projects
- From projects to policy: lessons for the future on green transition and higher education
Conclusion
These two meetings aim to ensure that projects like EXCEL-PHARM start well, deliver the results needed, and contribute to the green transition in Africa. The team is grateful to the funders and the organisers of this important meeting.
