Biography
Prof. Daprim Samuel Ogaji is a Professor of Public Health and Director of the Africa Centre of Excellence in Public Health and Toxicological Research (ACE-PUTOR) at the University of Port Harcourt. He holds an undergraduate medical degree from the University of Port Harcourt, a Fellowship in Public Health from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (2006), an MSc in Health Quality Improvement from the University of Helsinki (2008), an MBA from the University of South Wales (2010), and a PhD from the University of Manchester. Prof. Ogaji led the establishment of two major academic platforms — the World Bank-funded ACE-PUTOR and the University of Port Harcourt School of Public Health — and has overseen the development of 3 postgraduate diploma programmes, 12 taught master's degrees, and 11 PhD programmes in public health and related disciplines. He serves as Chairman of the Rivers State Hospitals' Management Board, Chair of the Clinical Governance Committee at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, and Lead Independent Verification Agent for primary health facilities in Rivers State. Prof. Ogaji is Editor-in-Chief of The Nigeria Health Journal (www.tnhjph.com), indexed in Scopus and EBSCO. Under his leadership, ACE-PUTOR achieved all its disbursement-linked results ahead of project closure under the ACE IMPACT Project.
