Prof. Abdoulaye Samb

Prof. Abdoulaye Samb is a senior physiologist and distinguished academic at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (UCAD). A Professor of Physiology within the Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Odonto Stomatology (FMPOS), he has built a career spanning over three decades in medical education, research, and hospital university service. He has served as Head of the Department of Biology and Functional Explorations and has held several key academic responsibilities, including membership in the Faculty Council and leadership of the Finance Commission. Prof. Samb completed multiple international research stays, notably at McGill University in Canada, investigating gene therapy in Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and at INSERM U408 in Paris, studying respiratory physiology. He is also a founding member of the International Francophone Society for Sport and Health, with expertise spanning exercise physiology, cardiovascular health, and chronic disease.
